In this guide, we'll explore the various aspects of linens, including sizes, types, and creative ideas to elevate your event.
Banquet Linens and Table Sizes
Table Size: 6 feet rectangular table

Cocktail Tables
No Ties:
- For standard 30-inch high cocktail tables, a 120-inch round linen will provide a floor-length look without ties.
With Sashes:
- To add a touch of elegance, consider a 132-inch round linen with sashes or greenery ties. The length of the sash can vary, but a 108-inch sash is a common choice for a tied look. Double check with your rental company to ensure their cockail table base won't be visible with the linen and sash method.
Runners
The length of runners depends on how you want to style them. In each scenario below, you'll need to know the length of the table(s), to determine the base length for your linens.
- Edge: For a subtle touch, a runner that comes to the edge of the table, approximately 6-12 inches on either side, is ideal.
- Over the Edge: To create a more dramatic effect, extend the runner over the table's edge, allowing it to hang down on the sides.
- Pool on the Floor: If you prefer a flowing, elegant look, let the runner pool on the floor, extending several feet beyond the table's edge. Most tables are 3-4ft from the floor, so you'll want at least 4ft on the end of each table.
